The Greenheart Travel people have e-mailed me to talk about the whole thing and I am sooooooooo happy. I'm going to talk with the lady person who e-mailed me (if she writes back, which hopefully she does, I've got bad luck with people never writing me back). I am pretty damn excited.
So, I've been doing some math:
I need approximately $11,500. Before I turn in my application I need to have $500. Within 7 days of turning in my application I need to have $3000 dollars. So I am going to say I need $3500 before applying. I have 5 months fore the deadline I need to keep the the price $300 cheaper. Here's me math:
I need $11,500 in 5 months.
That is $11500/5 months=$2300 per month....
$2300/4 weeks in a month=$575 per week...
$575/6 days a week that I am allowed to work=$95.83 per day
$95.83/4 hours a day I am allowed to work=$23.95 per hours.
I am not gonna find something that will pay ME $23.95 an hour for only 4 hours of work.
Then it occurred to me that I should focus instead on how many months it would take me to work up the first $3500 since I'd have until May to make the rest.
$3500/$10 per hour(hopefully)=350 hours of work
350 hours/4 hours in a day=87.5 days of work
87.5 days/6 days in a week=14.583 weeks of work
14.583/4 weeks in a month=3.65 months of work
This is assuming I get a job within the next week..... which is unlikely.
So, we'll say four months to factor in sick days or whatever and that leaves me with 4 more months to work up the rest of my $6700.
$6700/4 months=$1675 per month
$1675/4 weeks in a month=$418.75 per week
$418.75/6 days in a week=$69.79 per day
$69.79/4 hours in a day=$17.45 per hour
I will not be able to raise my pay 7 to 8 dollars in 4 months..... but I don't have to worry so much as I will have fundraising sites open and stuff and it will help some bit.... yikes... this is a bit scary.
I just realized I haven't factored in the fact that I don't own a suitcase or that I'll have to pay for checked bags... I mean, I did factor in the expenses to get to LAX which is where I'll be flying from but..... okay, calming down. I'm going to go work on my prints.

     Hello, my name is Annie, and I am a High School Student who wants to take a trimester of high school in Japan via the Greenheart Travel program. I've always wanted to go to Japan but recently I've been very determined to go. August of 2015 is my last chance to experience High School in Japan and I am going to make it happen.
     I am making a blog to promote this because I have no other form to do it on other than facebook and I am not on of those people who just friend EVERYONE!!!!!!! I have 52 friends two of which I have never met (well, three but the third one is a mutual friend) and one of those I haven't actually spoken to. We're friends because we're both avid fans of Detective Conan.
I guess I could use tumblr.... actually... I am using tumblr!!!!!!!! Because this bloggy thing is so hard for me to make work I am going to make a second one on my tumblr account and if you can you should follow me on tumblr. I will be updating both as things happen.
Share my blog in your friend group if you can, the more people who see my stuff the more likely this will get donations.
That, btw, is a fundraising site I didn't intend to open until after I got a job but the economy sucks and I am 16 soooooooo... life. If you donate starting at $25 I'll send you something. :)
